# Quickstart: install Orbit and run your first search

> Install Orbit on Mac, connect LinkedIn or Google, run your first natural-language network search, and capture a new person you just met — all in minutes.

# Quickstart

Orbit is **Mac-first**. Start on desktop for the strongest Day-1 moment, then keep iPhone as your capture companion.

  <Step title="Install Orbit">
    Download the Mac app from [orbitmy.co/download](https://orbitmy.co/download), or use the web app.
    Sign in with Google, Apple, or email.

  <Step title="Connect a real source">
    Open **Connect** and link at least one source you actually use:

    * **LinkedIn** — one-click auto-import in the Mac app (or upload an export)
    * **Google** — contacts + calendar attendees
    * **CSV** — any spreadsheet of people
    * On **iPhone** — Apple Contacts

    Orbit de-duplicates identities into one person per contact. Give the first import a few minutes.

  <Step title="Ask your network">
    Open **Search** and try:

    Founders in my network
    ```

    Anyone in NYC in fintech?
    ```

    You should get people from *your* graph — not a generic web list — plus a short answer.

    Tap the black **+** (Add to Orbit). Speak or type:

    Review the proposal if Orbit asks, confirm, and they're in your network.

## You are ready when…

* Search returns real people you recognize
* At least one Connect source shows as synced
* You can add a person without opening a CRM
