# Orbit FAQ: billing, imports, search, and privacy

> Answers to common Orbit questions on CRM comparison, Mac vs iPhone billing, LinkedIn import failures, empty search results, drafting email, and privacy.

# FAQ

## Is Orbit a CRM?

No. Orbit is a **network OS** — import, enrich, search, and capture people you know. It is built for relationship clarity, not pipeline stages.

## Do I need the Mac app?

For the best Day 1 (LinkedIn auto-import, Autopilot, full Pro), **yes**. Web works; iPhone is the companion. See [Mac desktop](/guides/desktop).

## Why is iPhone “Free”?

App Store billing rules. Pro purchases on Mac/web unlock Pro on those surfaces; the iPhone binary stays Free-entitled. Capture and search still work.

## LinkedIn import failed on web

Use the **Mac app** for one-click import, or upload a LinkedIn export ZIP/CSV from Connect.

## Search returned no one

Usually coverage or specificity:

1. Connect LinkedIn / Google so the graph is dense
2. Ask with a company, city, or school
3. Wait for enrichment on LinkedIn URLs

## Can Orbit write email for me?

Search can help **draft** grounded messages. Sending mail still happens in your mail client unless a future integration says otherwise.

## Is my network trained into a public model?

Orbit answers over **your** private graph for your account. See [Privacy](https://orbitmy.co/privacy) and [Security](https://orbitmy.co/security).

## Chrome extension?

Listed as **coming soon** on [orbitmy.co/extensions/chrome](https://orbitmy.co/extensions/chrome). Use Mac today.
