Search

Search is the heart of Orbit. Type (or speak) the way you would ask a sharp chief of staff — Orbit answers from your network.

Try these

What Search is good at

  • Companies — current and former employers
  • Places — cities, regions, countries
  • Schools — named universities and colleges
  • Roles & industries — founders, operators, finance, …
  • People — profile, history, how you know them
  • Warm paths — who can introduce you
  • Drafts — message starters grounded in the relationship
  • Follow-ups — “anyone else?”, “what about NYC?”

How answers feel

A strong result should answer:
  1. Who matched
  2. Why they match the ask
  3. Why they matter to you — note, meeting, closeness
If Orbit needs to disambiguate (“which Acme?”), it asks using options grounded in your graph — not a generic web guess.

Free vs Pro

On iPhone, App Store rules mean the app behaves as Free for billing. For full search depth and Pro features, use Mac.

Tips

  • Name a company or city when you can — sharper than “interesting people”
  • Use follow-ups in the same thread instead of starting over
  • Thin graphs return thin answers — Connect more sources first
  • Mention someone with @ when the UI offers it, to pin a person
Search gets better when your graph is enriched. If titles look empty, open a contact and run deep research (Pro), or wait for LinkedIn auto-enrich to finish.
